Mitocore FAQ
Quick answers to the questions visitors most often ask about Ortho Molecular Mitocore.
Does Mitocore affect sleep?
Yes — it can disrupt sleep if dosed too late. The B-complex (particularly methylated B12) and NAC are mildly activating. Morning-to-early-afternoon dosing avoids the issue. The practitioner review addresses sleep-impact considerations.
What is the sleep-protective dosing protocol?
First dose with breakfast. Second dose with lunch. Third dose, if used, with a mid-afternoon snack — never after 3pm. Patients with established insomnia should consider splitting two doses across morning rather than pushing three doses into the day.
What sleep changes do users report?
Vivid or unusually-detailed dreams — common, usually neutral or pleasant. Sleep-onset latency increase — only if dosed late. Wakeful periods in the middle of the night — uncommon, usually traceable to methylation overstimulation.
What about the relationship to melatonin?
Mitocore doesn't directly interact with melatonin supplementation. The B-vitamin and NAC content may affect melatonin production indirectly via methylation pathways, but this is mechanistic speculation rather than documented clinical effect.
What are the sleep-relevant medication interactions?
None directly relevant to common sleep medications. Indirect: if you're on prescription stimulants and adding Mitocore, the additive activating effect may shift dose timing. Interaction list covers the main map.
Pregnancy and sleep?
Pregnancy and lactation warrant prenatal-specific formulations. Pregnancy-related sleep changes (insomnia, restless legs, frequent urination) are common; discuss any supplementation with a midwife or OB.
Allergen flags for sensitive sleepers?
Free of the eight big allergens. Sulfur sensitivity from NAC is the residual flag — sulfur-sensitive patients sometimes report sleep disturbance independent of dose timing.
